Krista is a Gold Star Mom whose love of country and county are the reasons she first ran for Commissioner. A champion for the first amendment, she gave residents back their voice when she moved the public comment period from the very end of the meeting to the beginning. Forcing residents to wait hours to give a comment is how little regard the developer-funded commissioners had for tax-paying residents. Krista is also a fiscal conservative who put her principles to practice from day one on the commission. Learn more about what she accomplished and still plans to accomplish here.

What does it mean that Krista is a Gold Star Mom? It signifies the loss of a child who was on active military duty. Krista's son, U.S. Navy SEAL Charles Keating IV, was killed in a firefight with ISIS in 2016. The Gold Star is sincerely a distinction that no mother wants, but that is worn with pride. Krista's experience as a Gold Star Mom coupled with her strong opinions have led to her being interviewed by Fox & Friends seven times. See one of her interviews below.
